The first thing that struck me about Alan Smith was his beautiful skin and
the gracefulness of his well built body. This 6 foot, 195 lbws muscular, light brown eyes Adonis
was a delight to be with, so much so that women at the Romantic Times convention couldn’t resist
kissing and hugging him. As you can see, it was tough to interview him with all the excitement
and adoration surrounding him, I had to interview him via email months after the convention.
“Alan darling, where have you been? I’ve been waiting for your reply to my questions with
abated breath,” I wrote.
“Hi Doreen! Sorry, I’ve been so busy moving, working and travelling back and forth Florida.
I work as a loan consultant for a mortgage company as well as a model for Runway Talent in South
Beach. My modelling is the main job that keeps me so busy.”
“Wow, South Beach, a cool place for models to work and hang out. Were you discovered there?”
I asked as images of gorgeous models hanging out in clubs, beaches and colorful hotels came
into mind.
“Not exactly. I was formerly a crane engineer for 10 years and I decided to try modelling.
So I took part in the “1998 Washington D.C. Structure Underwear Model Search Team” and since
then my modelling career has brought me to South Florida where I currently reside in Aventura.”
“What a switch in career and you’ve certainly found something that makes you happy.”
“Yes, I am certainly happy and doing my best to elevate my modelling career to its fullest.
That was why I participated in the Mr. Romance competition in 2000. I didn’t win any title, but
I got very good response from the readers and authors interested to have me on their book covers.
I intend to compete again in November 2001 in Orlando. It really gave me a real high to be out
there on the stage and hearing the applause and cheers. I felt as if I had won. Actually I have
just returned from Jamaica for the 2002 Ultimate Man of Hedonism and am placed 2nd runner-up.
I am featured in their calendar. I have also entered the Indigo Man Contest for 2002. Readers

“Congratulations, that’s wonderful. Hedonism, hmmm....sounds absolutely raunchy and deliciously
sexy. Oh yes, I will definitely vote for you. You deserve to win. What other projects are you
currently doing?”
“I’m currently working on a project called “Ebony Male Unleashed 2002” soon to be finished by
fall 2001. I intend to take on everything by storm and make a name for myself. After the titles I’ve
got from the various competition, I am more confident and enthusiastic than ever.”
“Alan, you certainly knows how to unleash yourself to the modelling world. No wonder women are
panting after you. Tell me more about yourself.”
“I am half American and half Colombian which many find to be exotic. I love to play football,
basketball, lacrosse, racquetball, waterskiing and weightlifting. And I’m a very romantic person.”
“Do you have a girlfriend? And what in your opinion makes an ideal woman for you?”
“I’m single *Grin*. My ideal woman has to have strong sex appeal, confidence (nothing sexier
than a woman with a strong mind), sincerity, and most importantly we must have chemistry.
“What’s your biggest turn-off about a woman?”
“Low self-esteem - get over it!!!!”
“What pointers would you suggest to help that person?”
“Well, in order for a person to be truly happy, FIRST YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE IN AND LOVE
YOURSELF. That’s the most important. Try a new hairstyle, new clothes or anything else different
from the norm. Get away from all of the negative things in your life and focus on the positive.
Life is too short to be unhappy.”
“I totally agree with you Alan, I too find there are way too many women out there who whine
and complain about being unfulfilled and not doing something to change that. What about romance,
what in your opinion makes a great romantic night for you and your date?”
“ROMANCE IS ALL OR NOTHING. You can’t half step it. To me, every detail has to have significant
meaning. One of the most important details of making an evening romantic is being spontaneous,
coupled with an element of surprise. It’s always better when she’s not expecting anything at
all. This being “My Lady Love”, I would pick her up in the early evening for dinner at one of
the finest restaurants in South Beach. Our table would be in a cozy candlelit corner overlooking
the beach, with soft music playing in the background and a bottle of her favorite wine. After
dinner, we will take a sunset walk along the beach, hand in hand, smiling and sharing good
conversation along the way. Other singles and couples would glance at us with admiration
because of the chemistry and energy we display while we are together. Man, there’s nothing
like the attention you get from showing affection in public. As we sit on the beach in each
other’s arms watching the sunset and listening to the gentle ocean waves, we share our most
deepest thoughts and dreams. After sunset, I would then take my “Lady Love” to spend the rest
of the evening at home where I place her on her pedestal and continue to treat her like a Queen
she is to me. Tonight, Tomorrow and Forever.”
