Want to know what sizzles this summer? A true-blue Adonis with sizzling sex appeal and
great personality. I am proud to present Evan Scott the latest addition to my American fantasy and treasure trove at
Brazen Heroine. He's funny, passionate, intelligent, sensitive and very hot (grrrh.....). I have a blast interviewing him.
So join us, as he takes you to his private world.
Birthday: Dec. 8
Hair color: Dark Blond
eye color: Dark Green
height: 5’11"
weight: 170
shirt size: Neck 15 ½",
shoe size: 11
favorite color: Burgundy
Doreen: "Evan, what a lovely garden and home you have, mind if you give us a quick tour?"
Evan: "Yes, it would be my pleasure. Here’s the pond...and Alfred the Gargoyle."
"The hammock - This is where I end up after a long day of yard work.".
Evan: "Here's the fireplace and listening room. Those are my speakers. They are electrostatic
speakers built in the 1970’s. As a high-accuracy audio enthusiast I appreciate very accurate,
very natural sounding music. These are definitely not the speakers to play Rap music though.
And yes, we have fireplaces in Florida."
"My private backyard. Great for getting that "all over" tan. I have a home office with
a computer network that I set up. This is where I VPN (Virtual Privet Network) into work, do
computer programming, and general cyber surfing. True techno geek. An Internet Connection Server
connected to an Ethernet 4 port hub to link my desktop, laptop, etc. The monitor is KVM switched....
er...sorry, got carried away. Wanna see the kitchen?
Doreen: "Sure. What's cooking? Hey Chef, remember not to do any deep frying in the nude....
because you might get...O.k. it's too late." (Grin).
Evan: "Chef Evan, at your service. Now where is that Montreal spice for the steaks?"
Doreen (laughing): "Evan, I think the women looking at your pixs are going to have your buns
for their main course. You are a cheeky monkey, very spicy and sizzling. So tell me a little about
yourself. Do you have siblings or an only child? Were you shy as a child or gregarious? Are you
an introvert or extrovert person?"
Evan: "I’m the younger of two boys and I couldn’t have a better brother. I guess I was somewhat
introverted as a kid. Although I’m sociable, it takes a while before I’ll let you get close to
me and open up. I guess that’s a bit of a Southern trait. I keep my personal life very separated
from my work and social life. For example, only two close friends where I work know anything about
my pursuit as a cover model. My mom and dad don’t even know about it yet!"
Doreen: "Where did you grow up and which state are you residing in now?"
Evan: "I was born and raised on Florida’s Space Coast. It’s such a nice area that after college
I moved back. Sure I could find a better selection of higher paying jobs in Central Florida but
I wouldn’t want to live there. Aside from college I’ve never lived more than half mile from water."
Doreen: "Tell me about the jobs you had in the past and present."
Evan: "I was a lifeguard for 5 summers, UPS driver helper for X-mas for 2 seasons, Live sound
Engineer, Police/Fire Dispatcher, Audio Consultant, Chief Engineer at a recording studio, Engineer
at a test equipment manufacturer, Technical Support Engineer at an Avionics Manufacturer, Lead RF
(Radio Frequency) Engineer for a Fortune 200 firm. And hopefully a successful romance book cover
model...Will you hire me? I do windows...in tight shorts."
Doreen: "Wow, that's quite a variety of interesting jobs you have had. Oh yes, I would love
to have you grace my cover, it would be a blast. (Note to readers: do not lick the romance cover).
How did you get into modeling? Who discovered you or did you decide to do it yourself?
Evan: "I’ve dabbled in the field for a while although I haven’t gotten any significant work
from it. It seems my look doesn’t seem to appeal to the mainstream modelling industry. The Central
Florida area is influenced by the squeaky clean image of Disney World and the South Florida Miami
is more into trendy looks. Personality or intelligence doesn’t gain you much around here."
"As for romance book covers, my current agent, who is an editor for Romance books, discovered me.
We’d known each for a few months when she saw a picture of me and realized how different I looked on
camera. She asked if she could send the pic around and see what the reaction was. Surprisingly, a
writer asked me to do a cover. From there my agent kept searching the net. For some reason, she seems
to be having way too much fun at this. Scanning the net for hours, "comparing" the good looking guys,
memorizing the pecs of the romance novel men. Hmmmm...I wonder if this is in her contract under the perks?"
"My first book cover assignment was a blast. It was for Charlotte-Boyett-Compo’s upcoming story "Wind Catcher"
to be published by Amber Quill Press. It should be out later this year (maybe the beginning of next).
My photographer is Kevin Roberts. He does fantastic work and has very upbeat fun photo sessions. I just
tell him what I have in mind and let him cut loose. (refer to the two pics entitled Hero Shoot)"
"The scene Charlotte wanted is supposed to be where the hero is subdued by a group of Amazon women.
I thought, Gee, this sounds like fun already! I found two friends with long hair to be the amazons, got
some red robes for the girls, some swords as props and set up in the studio. Once I oiled up and
the girls donned the robes we started shooting. There was a problem with the scabbard I was wearing.
It kept slipping down. The remedy? Good ol’ duct tape, which fixes anything. So we proceeded to tape
the scabbard to my back. Of course now I’ve got this rigid plank fastened to me and I can’t bend over
or I’ll peel the skin off my back. We continued with rest of the session cutting up the whole time.
Everyone including the husband of one of the models pitched in with ideas for poses. Then came the
end of the session and the removal of the duct tape. Girls, if you want to try a cheap alternative
to waxing, use duct tape."
Doreen: "That's funny and what an interesting shoot. How did you come to know about the Mr. Romance
competition and my Fantasy hunk model search? Have you won any competition similar to these?"
Evan: "My agent told me about it and said I should try for it. I’m thinking, yeah right, I am NOT
built like Fabio. We ended up finding out about the Echelon Press Perfect Hero Contest and I signed up.
Although the contest has just started Echelon has already offered to promote me for the Mr. Romance
competition AND we’re negotiating a book cover. Otherwise that’s it. I’m a newbie. Doreen, please
tell your web readers to vote for me......plllllleeeeeeease!".
Doreen: "Sure baby, you've got my vote already. So have you done any acting?"
Evan: "The closest I’ve come to acting is being an extra on the Tom Hanks HBO movie "From Earth
to the Moon". I was a court reporter (an extra) in the hearing scene. Since I don’t have HBO I have
no idea if my face even made it on screen. Hey (smacking forehead), I’ve got an idea. I’ll send a
personally autographed picture to the first person who sends me a screen-cap of that movie with me
in the picture! One little hint; my hair was incredibly short. At my job I’m a real world actor.
Sometime I provide technical support for sales and help negotiate contracts. Sitting across the
table from a CEO or CFO you have to have your game face on."
Doreen: "If you are chosen to participate in a reality show, which would you pick? And why."
Evan: "I don’t watch them so I don’t really know. I saw one called Fear Factor. It looked like fun.
I mean, the producers aren’t going to do anything that will kill you. So it’s really up to you to get
past your insecurities. We American’s live such sheltered, protected lives. We travel to a foreign
country and immediately get sick from the food because our systems aren’t used to it. We can’t stomach
the fact that someone eats raw fish yet entire countries live on it. How hard can one of our reality
show contests be?"
"Isn’t there one called Survivor that’s on an island? Being stranded on a tropical island sounds
like a great vacation to me. "Excuse me, could you pass the sunscreen. LOL".
Doreen: "Do you enjoy sports? What type of sports do you like to do or watch? Do you compete in sports?"
Evan: "I like sports but don’t really like to watch them. I’d rather be in the game instead of a spectator.
Sitting in front of the TV watching sports is a bit of a contradiction to me. And just so ya know, I’ll play
any kind of sport whether I’m good at it or not. I’m very competitive. Not that I’m trying to beat the other guy
down into submission. I’m competing against myself. I want push myself and find my personal limits. I love the
feeling of planning a strategy against the opponent and executing a perfect kill shot yet I don’t get bummed
when I lose. I like to take that experience and use what I’ve learned to come back, push harder, and win the
next time."
"What sports am I in? My problem is I have too many. I just have so much fun in all of them I wish I had
more time. Triathlons(swim, bike, run), racquetball, weightlifting, surfing, and on and on.
I grew up around guns like a farm boy around tractors. My mom is a fantastic shooter. It’s so cool watching
a 70+ year-old woman handle a weapon like a seasoned cop. I was a competitor in small bore target shooting
and was ranked as Expert by the NRA. I also like sporting clays. But I do other stuff too...soccer, Jet skiing,
Roller-blading (only if there is plenty of Band-Aids and Bactine available!), water skiing, volleyball,
softball, golf, martial arts, I’d like to get back into SCCA Autocross (Automotive Racing), and on and on.
Ooops, I think I beat this question to death."
Doreen: "Not at all. Since health and exercise have grown to be an integral part of our daily lives,
what kind of health regiments do you adhere to? Do you enjoy working out at the gym?"
Evan: "I don’t particularly enjoy working out but I like the results. It is like going to school.
I didn’t like studying but it got me what I wanted to accomplish. I train for my triathlons and round it
out with weightlifting. I don’t want to get too big as it would be a detriment to the other sports I do.
My routine is, I usually get up about 5 AM and head to the gym before work. I have a good friend I often
lift with. When possible I squeeze in running or cycling. People can’t understand how I stay in shape when I travel. It’s because I always pack running shoes and lifting gloves and I make time to work out."
"It’s tough though. A lot of big business relies on schmoozing and that means going out to dinners and
talking over drinks. Late nights, rich foods, and many drinks play hell with my "girlish" figure. Besides,
it’s not good for the waistline. I watch what I eat much of the time so when I cheat I don’t feel bad. I
can hear that Krispy Kreme Bavarian calling me right now."
Doreen: "Besides Krispy Kreme donut, what are your other favorite food & drink?"
Evan: "That’s an unfair question, I’ve traveled to so many countries and I’ve been able to experience
so many culinary delights that it’s hard for me to choose. As for drinks, hmmm... when I’m with da boys,
it would be beer. Usually something dark or imported with more body than your usual American watered
down brew. Kickin’ back with my lady, Bacardi Silvers. It’s light, not too sweet, and I don’t have
beer breath. Of course nothing goes with Sushi better than saki! I love Jack Daniels, neat, in a brandy glass.
I also enjoy Cognac. Anything Henessy. Couvosoir only if it’s VSOP. E&J VSOP because it tastes as good as the
more expensive brands."
Doreen: "Welcome to the sushi club, I love sushi too. What about books? Do you enjoy reading? Who are
your favorite authors?"
Evan: "I do a lot of reading. I mean ALOT. But I don’t think it’s what you’re referring too. It’s all
technical or scientific. I guess I lost brownie points with your fans on that one huh?"
Doreen: "No, that's not true. It's great that you love reading. It doesn't have to be romance books, I
am always pleased to see or hear people love reading. Even comic books. Reading is a personable choice, no one should
judge your personal taste. Have you tried story writing?"
Evan: "Sure, I have in school but not beyond that. I don’t think I’m that good at fiction. But many
people enjoy the anecdotes that I’ve written up in my travels. When I go to a foreign country I look at
it with the naiveté (and maybe the ego) of American eyes. You can find many stories in that. Several people
said I should publish them in some kind of journal."
Doreen: "Who is your favorite person in your life? And why."
Evan: "Two people actually, my mom and my brother. I have a very small family. Mom is always mom. She
supports me no matter what I do, worries when I travel to strange lands, always makes sure I have plenty
of warm clothes, bugs me about my hair...the best kinda mom there is."
"My brother is a great guy like I told you earlier. He often looks at me and the things I do with
admiration. He doesn’t realize how much of an impact he had to enable me to do these things. He and his
family live in South Florida. When we get together we have a blast because we share so many of the same
diverse interests. It’s hard to find something we are different on. Except for looks. We don’t look much
like brothers. He got the blond hair, blue eyes, and 6 foot stature that I always wish I had."
Doreen: "What type of movies and music do you like?"
Evan: "Action/Adventure and Sci-fi are what I like best. I’m always up for a comedy. As for music, my
taste is very diverse. Just looking at my CD collection will tell you that. Jazz, Rock and Roll, New Age,
Classical. Bread, Buffett and Bach. Mettallica, Madonna and Marley. You won’t find Country Western or Rap."
Doreen: "Do you have a favorite charity that you volunteer your time and service?"
Evan: "I like animals. I’ve just started getting involved with a group that rescues and cares for big
cats. No, not fat calicos that sit around the house and preen themselves. I mean tigers, leopards, cougars,
and the like. They also educate the public on some of the issues the big cats have. I still have to go
through the screening process. With a little luck I’ll be a certified exotic pet handler someday. That’s
probably more fun than it sounds. I’ll probably be relegated to shoveling guano from the cages most of the
time. For now though, I’m a rescuer of stray turtles and homeless birds."
"I’m also a licensed amateur radio operator. Ya know that hobby mostly old geezers are in. Believe me,
this long hair kid stands out amongst the retirees. Radio operators donate their time to special events
that require extensive communication support and coordination like the Muscular Dystrophy walk-a-thons,
ride for leukemia, food drives, etc. Ham operators also provide support to local agencies during
emergencies and during hazardous weather conditions."
Doreen: "It's wonderful that you rescue animals. You have a lovely garden with a mini waterfall,
did you build the waterfall and landscape your own garden or did you have someone to do it for you?
I love gardening so this is one of my favorite questions."
Evan: "I love gardening and doing yard work around the house. But I have to make sure whatever
I plant is low maintenance because I travel so much. I do xeriscape type planting. It’s natural '
looking and easy to keep up. I’m also working on some roses. My latest try is miniature Sunburst.
I’ve also got bromeliads. But that ain’t real gardening. You just stick them in the ground and
they grow. I like them because the flowers are exotic looking. I’m also trying to do a little
topiary. My first project is a flamingo. I don’t like to pay for something I can easily do myself.
I do have some guys come in to trim and edge. But I do everything else; mowing, planting, etc."
"The pond was a fortunate discovery. I had been thinking of putting in one for a long time. I
just couldn’t figure out where I wanted to put it. One day I was walking around in the garden.
I tried to pick up a rock that was on the edge the yard when I realized it was cemented in place.
After a little bit of digging I realized it was the edge of a cement pond. It was buried in dirt
and rock, and completely overgrown. After two long weekends of excavation I finally cleared it.
It was in severe disrepair. The giant oak tree next to it had broken in a side and grown roots
into it, plus there were holes in the bottom. The small waterfall against the tree was pretty
well broken up too. I did all the work myself; concrete repairs, ran electrical and water
underground from the house, installed pumps/filtration. I’ve recently added low voltage lighting
to illuminate the water and a Gargoyle. He looks really cool all lit up at night!"
Doreen: "You like watersport too, right?"
Evan: "I have a Jet Ski which I often take out. The season is just about here for that.
Oh yea! Nothing like putting a little fun between your legs."
Doreen: "That's a very naughty way of telling us, I like that, you're funny. What is your
favorite holiday destination? Tell me about your most memorable travel."
Evan: "The Florida Keys. If you don’t like drinking frozen tropical drinks, listening to
Jimmy Buffet, or doing something on the water there’s not much else to do there. And that’s
good enough for me. When you’re down in the Keys you just throw away your watch because
you’re on island time."
"My most memorable travel was Paris. It’s as magical as you would imagine. Notre Dame is
colossal. Enjoying fine chocolates at a Chocoletier on the Champs Eslysee is poetic. The
Catacombs are an experience you’ll never forget. I’ve had no urge to see the movie "Moulin
Rouge" because I’ve been to the real one. It would be anti-climatic."
Doreen: "If you were stranded on a deserted island, what would you do to get rescued and
survive on the island?"
Evan: "I would prioritize my needs; first water, second food, third shelter, last rescue.
I think it’s strange what people say they would want if they were stranded on an island. Toilet
paper, a book, an extra change of clothes, etc. I don’t get it. First I would want a knife. It’s
a tool that you can use for many things. Second, a large sheet of clear plastic. It can be used
to make drinking water by distillation or catch rain and make a water proof shelter. Clothes?
On a deserted island? Who needs them??? To get rescued? If I could add my lady and bottle of rum
to the list heck, I wouldn’t want to be rescued! We’d be on vacation. Ok, ok I missed the point.
Building a fire would be the best way to attract attention. Find things to burn that generate
lots of smoke."
Doreen: "You know, I bet lots of your female fans would die to have the chance to be stranded
on the island with you if you just ask them. And yes, forget about clothes. Have you or would
you go shark watching in a protective cage?"
Evan: "No, I haven’t...yet. You bet I would. It’s got to be safer than when I surf. We’ve
had two shark bites in the last month on the Florida coast but you never hear about a guy in
a shark cage getting bitten."
Doreen: "Do you like it when women who are interested in you to come forward asking for a
date?"
Evan: "Sure I do. It’s only a bummer for me if I already have a date. I mean, what do I say?
Uh, sorry, got one this weekend, how about I pencil you in for next week? But I think it’s a shame
society has given women the impression they must be passive."
Doreen: "Have you had a bad date before?"
Evan: "Ha, well yea. We went to an Octoberfest fair. We were trying different drinks; Wine,
beer, schnapps, havin’ great time. I guess her stomach couldn’t handle it and ended up really
sick and ralphing. Somehow the spirit of the date was lost. After that night she was too
embarrassed to see me, and I didn’t want to make her feel worse by calling her. I felt so bad,
we had a really good time up to that point."
Doreen: "Describe your ideal woman."
Evan: "I like a woman who is intelligent, adventurous, independent, open minded, and enjoys
outdoor activities. Someone who can hold down an intelligent conversion but still jokes around.
I keep in shape and I appreciate a woman who does too. Not to the point where it runs your life
though."
Doreen: "What would you do to make it a memorable date?"
Evan: "I would listen, really listen. I think guys tend to be in the mode that they have to
always impress the girl rather than trying to find out what she’s really about. I try to find
out what she likes and is like. For some guys, they think a dinner at an expensive restaurant
is enough. I believe these kinds of thoughts are very presumptuous. Maybe she would be more
comfortable in a familiar atmosphere surrounded by friends. I like to find something she really
likes to do and then plan the date around it."
Doreen: "Evan, thank you so much for letting us into your private sphere. It's been wonderful
talking to you."
